"I miss your face"

When our grandchildren lived further away, we would talk to them on the phone. One time we called and one of our granddaughters told me, "I miss your face." It made me laugh and almost cry -- I missed her, too!!! She did miss me but what she really meant was that she wanted to FaceTime. You know what this Memaw did next!!! Hit the video button on my phone!!!

Well, with all of the limitations with the Corona virus, I can truly say that not only do I "miss your face" but I truly miss learning and worshiping in person with all of you! I am so thankful everyone is well, and thrilled that we do get to worship via social media. While it is nowhere near the same, it is cool that you and your family are making intentional time together to worship together, even if it is in front of a screen (but hopefully, just as a family, too). I pray this time has helped you all reevaluate how your time is spent, how you worship, and how important your family is.

You have several resources ("Arise" family devo, the "Defined" workbook, Bro. Michael's messages, our "Youth Group at Home" live broadcasts, your personal quiet time) and I pray you are spending time with the Lord. I really think we will all look back at this time in our lives and kind of miss the time together -- OF COURSE, not the cause of all of this BUT the effect. I am praying for all of you and your families.

I just want to close with a challenge for you. As you are spending a LOT of time with your family, I know you all can get a little short with each other at times. Remember what God says about our parents:

Exodus 20:12 -- "Honor your father and mother."

Ephesians 6:1 -- "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right."

Colossians 3:20 -- "Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord." My challenge to you is this: What is one really cool thing you can do for each of your parents? TODAY! Examples might be to do laundry, or cook, or sweep, or vacuum, or something you normally DON"T do. Girls, maybe you can offer to paint your mom's toenails? Just think about something you don't do for them and just do it!

Lastly, here is a great article to help you prioritize your role as a child in your family. Society makes us think our parents owe us, but it is really the opposite. WE owe OUR PARENTS so much!!! And don't forget to pray for them every day. https://fervr.net/teen-life/6-ways-to-show-love-to-your-parents

Don't forget the live broadcast tonight at 7:00 PM! https://www.youthgroupathome.com/

I miss your face! Love you all!!!
